Sir John and I

I'd forgotten about this! Time for a bit of name dropping. This picture was taken at the Madejski Stadium when I presented 2 prints (one signed by manager, players and chairman) of Reading FC themed paintings which were auctioned for charity. I had the privilege of meeting John Madejski on that occasion even though he wasn't actually a knight at the time, but is nevertheless the unofficial King of Reading. ( I know, I look nothing like my profile picture )

Heroes like Bogart?

Do we consider film stars like Bogart to be heroes, let alone worthy of high definition? Maybe, or maybe not? I think maybe from my point of view, high definition at least................

Betjeman - Friendly Bombs?

This is a piece of self promotional work I intend to send to Slough Council. Have always been interested in this view of Slough by the famous poet. Bracknell has suffered from unfair opinions in the past and I sympathize with Slough, believe it or not! David Brent made some good points!!!

House Portraits

Are you proud of your house, holiday home, villa abroad no less? I can provide a painting you can cherish forever or even give as a gift to a friend or loved one.

The house above is one example and the owners kindly gave me this testimonial:-

“ Steve has an amazing talent that spans photo realism through to what one might consider a more realistic style. The painting of our house is simply stunning”

How kind of them (only cost me £5 for that!!..........joke!)

Nostalgic Art?

Ever thought of giving a piece of art that remembers the good old days of your family or work times? A gift for retirement, anniversary, birthday, celebrating an award. Just give me your photos, a little background information and off I go! Spread the cost amongst friends, family or colleagues and I become quite affordable.

Past & Present Bracknell

These "Past & Present" images of Bracknell appear in an exhibition in Brooke House ( the home of Bracknell Town Council ) Open from 1st July 2009. It celebrates the 60 year anniversary of Bracknell being designated a New Town in 1949. A small market town known for it's brick making is almost completely unrecognizable apart from a few listed buildings which remain. The pub "The Red Lion" can be seen in the top right hand image. I have produced a few of these including some of Reading and intend to do a few more.

The End of a Carbuncle

This was an article which appeared in the Bracknell Standard newspaper (after I'd contacted them!). Back in the mid 90's I had an exhibition at the local arts centre ( South Hill Park ) which featured paintings with a Bracknell theme, but with a touch of humour. One of these paintings (see below) showed planes, instructed by Prince Charles, to destroy a building in Bracknell.Originally occupied by 3M. This building had always been one of my most hated to be constructed in the town, and I always felt that should be it's fate. It was an awful square building with small windows linked to another building with no similar architectural features. The article coincided (not by coincidence) with the long awaited demolition of this monstrosity.

Creation of John

This article appeared last year in the local rag the "Reading Chronicle" (The Evening Post wasn't interested!). John and I sent a press release on the off chance, and low and behold. See logo of John's website (click on it) and see the story of producing this piece of art for his plumber's van. His website is:- http://www.yaph.co.uk/

Published in an Arsenal programme!

Fame at last!! A painting I created for my sister-in-law's husband was featured in one of last season's Arsenal programmes. A view of the family sitting in their usual box level seats at the Emirates stadium. I titled it "It's all about to kick-off!!" I thought it was quite appropriate considering the content.
